Graffiti Prevention

There are various methods implemented for graffiti prevention. The NZ Government have banned the offer of spray paints to teenage to check the vandalism of graffiti tags.

Measures that can be done to avoid Graffiti are:
  • Planting bushes and other vegetation to cut the easy access to walls and fences.
  • Prompt reporting and removal of graffiti vandalism.
  • Use materials (for instance trellising) and surfaces that make graffiti vandalism difficult.
  • Educating the people that Graffiti vandalism is a crime and strict action can be taken against graffiti artist.
  • Apply a clear coating of protective material over the painted and unpainted surfaces and use graffiti preventive film on windows.
  • Application of pastel shades for common fields rather than white, magnolia or traditional colors reduces graffiti attacks.
  • Get your property clean as soon as possible. An outside appearance that is free from any graffiti or tagging reduces the chances to attract vandals.
